Connecting Grassroots Clubs to International Opportunity.
As the first and only SBP Affiliate, this opportunity is extending across Australia at local grassroots clubs, giving an opportunity to collaborate under a unified pathway system into the Philippines National Programs.
We are inviting a National Construct for Australia comprising of East, North, South, West and Central conferences across the states similarly to the Basketball Australia system. Within each of the states there will be a State Conference Head which will form the Head for each of the conferences, comprising of members under SBP Australia Basketball Inc Non for Profit (NFP) body.

SBP Australia Basketball has been established as a non-for-profit body dedicated to establishing Australia’s first collaboration network that bridges grassroots basketball and creates pathway structures for athletes of Filipino lineage to gain exposure to the Philippines National Program.
Our commitment is to nurture growth and excellence in Filipino basketball talent, striving to build a strong national network with Royals Basketball and its partnership with the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP), uniting and supporting basketball clubs for athletes of Filipino heritage across Australia.
Incorporated with 12 founding members and 3 affiliated clubs, there are 5 elected board members under its Constitution since establishment in October 2025. The incorporation is registered under State and National Governing bodies to carry out activities Australia-wide.

There are 3 types of membership as part of Royals Basketball approved Affiliated Global Partner of the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP). This affiliation carries with it a membership commitment criteria, obligations, and responsibilities that underpin the values of the established non-for-profit entity and its constitution.
Elected members from the SBP Australia Basketball Board Committee acting as the advisory panel is responsible for working in partnership with conference leads for overseeing grassroots development including program pathways, player selection criteria, and eligibility.
The 5 States will comprise of the following conferences:
North: Queensland
East: New South Wales, ACT
Central: South Australia
West: Western Australia
South: Victoria, Tasmania
National Conference leaders will be the point of contact for the relevant states, that operates under a national construct.

With the level of competition and tournament standards rising globally, Filipino-Australians must continue to evolve to remain among the world’s best. This requires ongoing commitment to developing our players, refining our selection processes, and ensuring our teams are prepared to meet the highest international benchmarks. We do this with set events and tournaments that provide the talent exposure.
Appointment of Coaching staff including Head Coach, Assistant Coach, will be at the decision of the Board to endorse and approve appointments.
All coaching staff will be required to submit a registered interest, along with paperwork demonstrating coaching qualification, and Working With Children Check (WWCC).
This will comprise of teams with selected athletes from the East, North, South, West and Central in the following age groups for both Boys and Girls: 14U, 16U and 19U.
The maximum line up will be 15 to 12 core players, and 3 development players.
Player selection criteria, trials for national representation will be at the discretion of the clubs/bodies registered under the SBP AUS Basketball with responsibility for coordination and participation.
There will be opportunities for performance development programs such as performance camps, talent showcase and National Tournaments in collaboration with Conference Heads.

The official event management arm will be Royals Basketball Commercial Enterprise for the pathways program development curriculum. National Conferences may also co-facilitate or conduct additional events and any fee agreed to share with the respective conference bodies or appointed parties involved can be agreed in writing.
Conference Heads and SBP Australia Basketball will oversee any endorsed events proposed and ensure that the membership requirements for participation in Performance Programs, National Tournaments, and Talent Showcase events are met for the annual duration of the membership year to year. Programs are at additional cost.
The financial model will comprise of individual membership of $100 per person per year. This membership is designed around funding for the broader strategic pathways, performance and development of talent within AU into the pathways program designed to expose players into the PH National program. This will align with the opportunity to represent the Philippines National team under this initiative. Additional cost of programs is outside the NFP.
A standardised system to ensure consistent athlete development and minimum performance standards across all participating clubs and academies. State Conference Heads, along with local organizations, will receive guidance and have the opportunity to join SBP AU Basketball in partnership with Royals Basketball on the development of a national standard.
Coaches and representatives from clubs and academies across Australia will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of the minimum standards and talent requirements. They may also be invited to assist host development programs in their respective clubs for identification of talent into the pathways program, and National tournament/events.
